Lesson Five: Concerning "Us"

歡迎光臨 to another exciting lesson in Chinese.
Today we will be discussing a useful phrase for helping you tell someone you talking about not only yourself by the group of people you are with.

Jenny: 我們累了。(Wo3 Men5 lei4 le5)

Now the the second character in this sentence is a very important one, as it can be used to make some words plural. One of the examples above is 我 can be made into a plural version, so when you see 我們 instead of "I" it means "We".

So now you know what 們 (Men5) means, it is time to move on to 累 (Lei4), as this character means tired.
Our sentence so far is "We tired", an understandable sentence but still not complete. To complete this sentence you are going to have to add the character 了(Le5) this character is usually used to mark something that is in the past and almost always comes at the end of the sentence.

So after learning all of that we are left with a translated sentence that looks a little like this.

"We are tired".

A fully functioning sentence  is formed before our very eyes.
it is not so hard to make working sentence you just need to keep practicing.

Well that is the end of this lesson see you next on Zhongwen Studies.
