Lesson six: Fun With Numbers (Part One)

Welcome back to another lesson in the exciting world of Chinese study.
Today we will be examining numbers because just about everything uses and needs numbers in it.
After all what would happen if you go to a restaurant and ordered ten of the same meals because you had mistaken the number you told the waiter.

I know probably not the most exciting lesson to learn but it is a crucial one for your experience in Chinese. I will be breaking this lesson up into several parts as there are just a lot of numbers to cover without throwing too many at you at once.

Well let us begin.

一 (Yi1)

二 (Er4)

三 (San1)

The first few numbers are pretty similar to each other making it easy to remember them, however you should still practice them as best as you can. I think without even doing a translation this time you can already surmise the answer but never the less, we do a translation just in case.

一 (is number one)  二 (is number two)  三 (is number three)

Well there you go now you are well off and away on your journey into numbers.
See you next time for the second part of our numbers lesson.
