Lesson Ten: Buying Stuff

Now that we are finished with the numbers I know it was a lot to memorize in that last lesson. Everyone is doing great just try your best to keep up with the daily lesson plan.
Today we are going to do a simple lesson that is focused on pointing out your selection to everyone else.

我要買這個 (Wo3  Yao4   Mai3   Zhe4  Ge5)

This is a simple but very important sentence, this time we are learning how to say you want to buy something.
Learning how to buy stuff is one of the major reasons we all take trips and vacations to different countries. Without a souvenir I fear most trips could almost be forgotten, or at least it is fun to show off to your family and friends.

Now for the translations my favorite part.
我 ( I ) 要 ( Want to ) 買 ( Mai3) ( It means to "Buy" ) 這 ( Zhe4 ) ( It means "This" ) 個 ( Ge5 ) ( Is a unit that is usually paired with numbers ).
I know adding 個 to the end of the sentence probably confused you, but when you say 這 you need something after it to make the word complete and tell everyone exactly what you mean.
Another use for 個 is with numbers like so 一個 which means one.

It is good if you are ordering something or buying stuff in a shop you can tell them exactly how many you want and which one you want to buy.

Goodbye for now until next on Zhongwen Study.
